The Osa Peninsula is the most biodiverse region of Costa Rica, and one of the most biodiverse on Earth.
National Geographic called it "the last great peninsula" to be unspoiled by modern development.
Imagine waking up in this pristine and vibrant wilderness, with the sounds of tropical birds all around and the warm breeze on your skin, enjoying the antics of monkeys and sloths along with the scent of the flowers.
Explore the rainforest, snorkel with dolphins, bathe in a waterfall...
In a one-of-a-kind place like this, of course you want to see as much as you can! You'll have plenty of opportunities to explore on this retreat.
We'll visit Corcovado National Park, which is considered by many to be the "crown jewel" of Costa Rica's national park system (not an easy contest to win!).
Here, you'll have the opportunity to see several rare species found nowhere else on Earth. Surrounded by hummingbirds, monkeys, butterflies, and so much more, your heart will come alive.
I'll also lead you in a special releasing ritual at a waterfall deep in the jungle, as the pristine water cleanses you. And we'll also explore the ocean, which is as biodiverse as the land in this area; on our boat ride, we'll have the opportunity to snorkel with wild dolphins! (Depending on the dolphins' willingness, of course!) Other activities, including ziplining, horseback riding, and kayaking, are also possible; we'll determine the final itinerary based on the interests of the group.
Every activity will be 100% optional. If you need some extra rest, you'll be absolutely free to stay at Ojo del Mar and enjoy some hammock time. If you choose to do them all, we promise that you won't feel rushed. Through all of our explorations, we'll maintain a sense of spaciousness, with abundant time for rest, reflection, and rejuvenation.
Here, amidst the creativity of the Earth, you'll feel much more in touch with your own creativity. You'll begin to reexperience the flow of passion and joy.
Our luxury eco-retreat center
It's important to care for a unique region like Osa. That's why we carefully chose eco-friendly lodging for this retreat.
We'll be staying at Ojo del Mar, a world-renowned eco-resort deep in the jungle.
Recognized for its excellence by publications ranging from Condé Nast Traveler to Lonely Planet to USA Today, this incredible place has also been awarded a 5-star rating by the Butterfly Club for ecological excellence.
The resort aims for minimal ecological impact. It's entirely off-grid, with all power being solar. The food is local, with much of it being grown on-site in the resort's own organic garden, and the rest being sourced from local farmer's markets. Besides being eco-friendly, this food is delicious!
You long to explore this incredible planet, and to discover its many treasures. Costa Rica's Osa Peninsula is undoubtedly one of the greatest of those treasures. This is a place you can't miss during your time here on Earth.
Now you can experience this place with a group of like-minded people. Those who enjoy an adventure, but who also understand the importance of mindfulness and balance. Those who will help you reconnect to the passion and joy in your own heart. The friends you make on this retreat will be your friends for life.
Daily yoga, art, and meditation
Along with these outer explorations, Nicole and I will use our unique gifts to help you connect to your inner world.
I'll offer daily yoga to keep your body feeling fantastic.
As the author of The Yoga Doctor, I know just how to adapt it to your specific body, even if you have injuries or no yoga experience.
I'll also offer meditation, including movement meditation and other life-affirming practices.
Nicole will offer her years of experience as an art teacher.
You'll take part in intuitive art practices, to help you get in touch with that inner creativity no matter what your skill level.
Nicole will also teach easy travel sketching techniques so you can capture the beautiful flora and fauna during trips to the botanical garden or nature preserve.
If you'd like to learn or improve on your painting or drawing technique, Nicole's expert teaching will help you on your path. You could go home with new skills, to enjoy for the rest of your life!
If you'd just like to play, using art as a way to reconnect with your own passion and creativity, that's also perfectly fine. No pressure to "be an expert artist!"
Ojo del Mar is designed to give you an intimate experience of the unparalleled treasure that is the Osa Peninsula rainforest.
The buildings have been integrated into the jungle itself, and the animals and birds don't feel threatened at all, so they come right up to the resort. This is truly the closest you can get to the rainforest.
Don't forget about spa time! I've found that people love to get massages while they're on retreat. It's a great time to treat yourself, with the self-care that might feel too indulgent at home. If you'd like to have a massage (or two, or three!), Ojo del Mar has a spa like no other.
You can relax amidst the jungle and gaze at the ocean as your expert massage therapist works out all the knots.
Let the Osa Peninsula nourish and restore you. In this most biodiverse land, your heart will open and blossom.
